Read Across America Day at Marshall Elementary (March 2013)
During the 2012-2013 school year I worked with staff at Marshall Elementary School in Dubuque, IA to set up a reading day for Read Across America. Myself along with 11 other volunteers from Loras College read to students in the Preschool through fifth grade and then completed an activity with them related to the book we read.

Service Trip To Morton, Mississippi (January 2012)
Over a week long break from class I went to Morton, Mississippi, with a group of 8 other Loras Students. While there I had the opportunity to tutor high school students preparing for their graduation exams, help in a second grade classroom, work in an after school program at the Exel Community Center, visit nursing homes and adult day care centers, and other community outreach activities.

Loras College Resident Advisor
Since beginning as an RA in January of 2012, I have had the opportunity to work with an amazing group of people. Along with my co-workers I have planned programs to promote body, mind, soul, and inclusive community in the Loras residence halls. I have also learned the skills necessary to handle conduct issues and resident concerns within the halls.

Loras College Honors Program
Through the honors program I have had many unique opportunities. I have been able to progress through introductory classes through advanced general education classes with a close-knit group of motivated students from a multiple different disciplines. Additionally, along with other members of the honors program, I have gone on camping trips, participated in service opportunities, and lead the first two honors orientation programs for incoming honors students.
